Cleanliness is always in!

Hello Wonderful Beauties!

Today, I want to focus on one tool that we use to apply makeup. Now, for those that use disposable makeup applicators that is awesome. Use and trash is your method. However, I am aware that there are many folks who use brushes to apply their daily makeup. This post is for you.

Recently, I received training regarding being a beauty professional, and practicing safety guidelines in reference to COVID-19. Although, sanitation and disinfection has always been a practice in my business, I felt that getting additional training would be wise during this time.
With that being said, I believe that every person that uses brushes to apply makeup should practice cleaning their brushes to keep them in good condition and your skin safe and happy. Why should you care? Below are a few answers to that question.

DID YOU KNOW...

  1. That your makeup brush is a house for bacteria, oil, dirt, and dead skin cells to accumulate.
  2. Dirty makeup brushes can cause skin irritations, breakouts or other skin conditions or worse... infections.
  3. Dirty brushes make it impossible to create a flawless makeup look due to product buildup.
  4. Dirty brushes contaminate your makeup products.
  5. As previously mentioned, washing your makeup brushes helps with the life-usage of the brush.
A recommendation I have is the "Tiger's Eye Brush Soap". A bonus is that brushes have a quicker drying time with this product. Which is amazing for avid makeup wearers! Click on Sonia Roselli to browse and shop.
Please note: you can use any brush cleaner of your choice. Just clean those brushes! 😉
Tiger's Eye Brush Soap made with natural disinfectants: honey and tea tree oil

A quick tip on how to use:

Wet the soap. Wet the makeup brush. Rub brush on the soap until suds form. Work soap into brush hairs. Get a good lather and rinse. Repeat if needed. Make sure to gently press out any excess water from the brush hairs. Bonus: I like to reshape the brush hairs with my hand and lay flat on a clean cloth towel or paper towel as the drying process completes.

Do you find this information helpful? You want a couple more options for cleaning your brushes? OK...(no water needed to use these)

  • Parian Spirit Brush Cleaner-I love the citrus scent, and great to use when on a go or traveling.
  • Sephora Daily Brush Cleaner- great for on the go.

I highly recommend washing your brushes for personal use with water and a brush soap/cleaner at least once a week (ex: Tiger's Eye Brush Soap).
